Last updated: September 18, 2026.
This notice explains how Used Pulse collects, uses, discloses and safeguards personal information when people use the marketplace, including listings, seller storefronts, identity verification, on-platform checkout, Stripe Connect, orders, shipping options, messaging, auctions and disputes.
Information we collect
We may collect account details such as public display name, private legal first and last name, email address, optional phone number, an 18+ age attestation, approximate latitude/longitude and location information, listing and storefront content, messages, account-security information, order and transaction records, subscription and promotional-payment records, device/browser information, IP address, cookies, and support or dispute communications.
Seller storefront information may include a store name, description, logo, banner, shipping/pickup information and design preferences such as theme, colours, layout and section visibility. Listing and order records may include available quantity, quantity-discount rules, selected quantity, shipping zone and shipping charge.
Age and identity verification
Used Pulse accounts are intended for people age 18 or older. Where Stripe Identity is used, Stripe may collect and verify information from a government identity document and selfie, including verified legal name and date of birth. Stripe processes that sensitive verification information under its own terms and privacy practices.
Used Pulse uses the verified date of birth to determine whether the account holder is at least 18 and compares the verified name with the private legal name supplied in the profile. The application is designed not to store passport/document images, document numbers, selfie images or the full verified date of birth in the Used Pulse database. It stores limited verification status and references needed to operate and secure the account.
Only users who satisfy Used Pulse's verification requirements may create and publish seller storefronts. If an ID-verified user changes the private legal first or last name, Used Pulse may invalidate the existing verification and require verification again. A public display name or storefront name does not replace the private legal identity used for verification.
Payments, Stripe Connect and seller payouts
Used Pulse uses Stripe for supported payments and Stripe Connect for sellers who choose to accept eligible purchases through Used Pulse Checkout. For marketplace purchases configured as direct connected-account charges, payment information is processed by Stripe on the seller's connected account and Used Pulse may receive a platform/application fee. Used Pulse does not intend to store complete payment-card numbers or seller bank-account credentials.
Used Pulse stores marketplace order records needed to operate the service, such as buyer and seller account IDs, listing, quantity, merchandise amount, selected shipping zone and charge, Used Pulse fee, total, payment references and order status. Stripe may separately collect payment, payout, tax, identity, business, address or banking information required to provide its services. Sellers manage eligible payout information and timing through Stripe/Stripe Express where available.
How information is used
Information may be used to create and secure accounts; enforce age and identity requirements; publish listings and verified storefronts; save storefront designs; calculate quantities, discounts, shipping and marketplace fees; create and reconcile orders; support Stripe Connect onboarding and payouts; provide messaging, auctions, notifications, billing, support and disputes; prevent fraud and abuse; enforce marketplace rules; improve search and marketplace performance; comply with law; and protect users and the service.
Public information and storefronts
Listings, storefronts, seller display names, storefront names, logos, banners, descriptions, approximate public location information and other content a seller chooses to publish may be visible to visitors and search engines. Buyers may see whether a seller has completed Used Pulse identity-verification requirements. Sellers should not place private legal names, precise home addresses, financial information or other sensitive information in public storefront or listing content unless they intentionally want it disclosed.
Location and browser geolocation
The Profile page can ask the browser/device for location only after the user activates the location button and grants permission. Used Pulse then places rounded approximate latitude and longitude values into the profile form; the current implementation rounds those coordinates before they are saved. Users can review or edit the values before saving the profile. Browser/device providers may process location permission and location data under their own policies.
Approximate seller location may be used for maps, distance, local search, pickup or marketplace features. Users should not enter a precise residential address into public fields unless they intentionally want that information displayed.
Orders, shipping, discounts and transaction records
For eligible on-platform purchases, Used Pulse may retain the selected item, quantity, applicable quantity/order discount, shipping category (such as local, country or international), shipping charge, payment status, seller fee, tracking information if provided, and order lifecycle information. These records may be used for fulfillment, account history, reconciliation, refunds, disputes, fraud prevention and legal or tax obligations.
Messages, disputes and support
Messages and dispute/support records may include the parties, related listing or order, case ID, status, case-manager assignment, communications and information supplied by the parties. These records may be used to provide the service, investigate complaints, prevent abuse, address payment disputes or chargebacks, and comply with legal obligations.
Cookies, security, IP addresses and geographic controls
We use session and security cookies to keep users signed in, protect forms and support account security. CAPTCHA, fraud-prevention, payment or other providers may also use cookies or similar technologies. Used Pulse may process IP addresses and approximate geographic information for security, rate limiting, fraud prevention, access controls and compliance. Administrators may block specific IP addresses, networks or geographic areas where necessary.
The built-in website-view counter stores aggregate page-view counts by date and route and is not designed to store a visitor's IP address with each page view. Security rate limiting uses a one-way hash derived from the request IP rather than storing the raw visitor IP in the rate-limit table.
Third-party service providers
Used Pulse may disclose or transmit information to service providers as necessary to operate features such as payments and payouts, identity verification, CAPTCHA, hosting, email and security. Those providers process information under their own terms, privacy notices and legal obligations. Users should review applicable third-party notices, particularly before using Stripe Identity or Stripe Connect.
Retention
Information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including account operation, orders, payments, payouts, tax/accounting, security, fraud prevention, disputes, chargebacks and legal obligations. Retention periods can differ by record type and third-party providers may have their own retention requirements.
Access, correction and privacy rights
Depending on the law that applies to a user, privacy rights may include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, data portability, withdrawal of consent where consent is the legal basis, or a right to complain to an appropriate privacy/data-protection authority. These rights may be subject to exceptions, identity verification, fraud-prevention needs, transaction-record requirements, legal obligations and retention requirements.
International users and cross-border processing
Used Pulse may be accessible in multiple countries and territories, subject to applicable law, service availability, sanctions, export controls, payment-provider rules, identity-verification availability and marketplace restrictions. Personal information may be processed in Canada, the United States and other locations where Used Pulse or its hosting, payment, identity, email, security or support providers operate.
Used Pulse does not represent that every feature is legally or technically available in every country. Users are responsible for laws that apply to their marketplace activity, including consumer protection, taxes, customs, advertising, payments, privacy, sanctions and cross-border trade.
Age restriction and children
Used Pulse accounts are intended only for people age 18 or older. Users who cannot satisfy applicable age and verification requirements are not eligible for verified-seller storefront features and may be restricted as required by law and marketplace policy.
Changes
This notice may be updated as the service, providers, laws and business model evolve. The updated date will appear at the top.
This privacy notice is a practical website template, not legal advice. Because Used Pulse includes identity verification, Stripe Connect marketplace payments, seller storefronts and potentially international transactions, obtain qualified privacy and marketplace counsel before public launch and for each jurisdiction where the service is actively offered.
