Used Pulse Help

Age 18+ requirement

Used Pulse accounts are for people age 18 or older. New users confirm that they are 18+ during registration. Stripe Identity provides an independent age check when a user completes identity verification.

Identity verification

  1. Open Account and confirm that you are at least 18.
  2. Enter your private legal first and last name in Profile exactly as shown on your government ID.
  3. Select Verify identity with Stripe Identity.
  4. Follow Stripe's instructions to capture your identity document and, when requested, a matching selfie.
  5. Used Pulse shows the ID-verified badge only when Stripe reports a successful verification, the verified date of birth shows age 18+, and the verified name matches the private legal first and last name stored for the account.

If an ID-verified user later changes the private legal first or last name, the verification badge is removed and Identity verification must be completed again. Changing the public display name does not invalidate verification.

Authenticator-app MFA

  1. Open Account → Security.
  2. Select Set up authenticator MFA.
  3. Open Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, or another TOTP-compatible application.
  4. Scan the QR code shown by Used Pulse. If scanning is unavailable, enter the displayed setup secret manually.
  5. Enter the current 6-digit code from the authenticator application and select Confirm and enable.
  6. After MFA is enabled, login requires both your password and the current authenticator code.

Quantity discounts

Fixed-price sellers can add up to five quantity discount tiers. A tier can apply a percentage discount to each item, a fixed CAD discount to each item, or a fixed CAD discount to the entire qualifying merchandise order. The minimum quantity selected by the seller determines when a tier applies.

Buying through Used Pulse Checkout

Eligible fixed-price listings can be sold directly through Used Pulse. The buyer selects the available quantity and shipping option, reviews applicable quantity discounts, and pays through Stripe Checkout. Orders appear under Account → My orders.

For these sales, Used Pulse charges the seller a 3% marketplace fee on the merchandise selling amount after applicable quantity discounts. Seller-entered shipping charges are separate from that 3% marketplace fee.

Shipping

For listings sold through Used Pulse Checkout, the seller can set separate shipping charges for local delivery, Canada/country delivery, and international delivery. Buyers should select the shipping option that applies to their destination.

Seller payments and Stripe Connect

Sellers who accept payment through Used Pulse connect a Stripe seller account. Payments are collected through the seller's connected Stripe account and the Used Pulse marketplace fee is applied through Stripe Connect. Sellers can review marketplace sales under Account → Sales & payouts and use the Stripe Express Dashboard for supported payout and Stripe-account management.

Seller storefronts

Storefronts are available only to ID-verified sellers. A verified seller can create a public storefront with a store name, description, logo and banner. Buyers can open the storefront from the seller's listings and browse or search that seller's active products.

Marking a listing as sold

The owner of an eligible fixed-price listing can use Mark as sold when the item is no longer available. A sold listing is no longer available for normal purchase or offers. Auction listings use the auction completion process instead.

Auctions and bidding

Sellers can choose a fixed price or an auction when posting an ad. Auctions have a starting price, minimum increment and closing time. See the complete Auction & Bidding Help before placing or accepting bids.

Contact and disputes

Use Contact Us for general questions. For a marketplace conflict, open File a dispute. Every dispute receives a case ID and appears under Account → Disputes. When staff assigns a case manager, the manager's name and case updates appear in the case.

Website views and advertisement views

Used Pulse tracks aggregate website page views. Each advertisement also displays its posted date and view count. Repeated refreshes from the same browser session within a short period do not keep increasing the ad view count.

Advertisements, subscriptions and promotions

Free advertisements: the first 10 published advertisements are free.

Per advertisement: after the free allowance, $1.00 for each advertisement unless the seller has an active Unlimited plan.

Unlimited seller plan: $9.95 CAD per month for unlimited advertisements. Storefront eligibility is separate and requires ID verification.

Featured advertisement: $3.00 for 30 days.

Payments and recurring subscriptions are processed through Stripe. You can manage supported Stripe subscriptions from the Billing area of your account.
